BOSTON – Thursday, April 27, 2017– Democrat for Governor Jay Gonzalez received an endorsement Wednesday from State Senator Barbara L’Italien, D-Andover. One of the first state legislators to endorse in the gubernatorial, her endorsement comes only weeks after Gonzalez officially announced his candidacy for Governor.
“I’m an enthusiastic and early supporter of Jay because I believe in his progressive vision for Massachusetts,” said Senator L’Italien. “Whether it’s his bold proposal to create universal early education and child care for our children or his support of legislation to protect immigrant families from dangerous Trump administration policies, Jay has a proven track record in the public and private sector of working to give everyone a fair shot. Today, we have a Governor who too often backs away from the most challenging issues we face as a Commonwealth. Governor Baker has sat on the sidelines when working families and the most vulnerable among us have needed him most.”
“I am proud to receive Senator L’Italien’s endorsement,” said Jay Gonzalez. “Through her tireless advocacy for our most vulnerable neighbors, she has proven her relentless commitment to her community and Massachusetts. She exemplifies the values that our campaign represents.”
