Senate President Stan Rosenberg (with an introduction from former Andover state Represenative and Senator Barry Finegold) talking about “what Sen. L’Italien has been doing at the State House in the name of the people” of Andover, Lawrence, Tewksbury and Dracut at the senator’s standing-room-only Campaign Kickoff on June 8 at Andover’s Chateau Restaurant.
The Senate President highlighted Sen. L’Italien’s work on 10 Legislative Committees including her Chairmanship of the Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure Committee, where she has worked to combat the terrible opioid crisis, among many other issues. “She’s a person of great courage because she stands up to take the tough votes and then takes what comes after that,” Senator Rosenberg told the audience. He also praised Sen. L’Italien’s work in the areas of civil and human rights and on behalf of the elderly, armed services veterans and people with disabilities.
Sen. L’Italien’s good friend and State House colleague Rep. Colleen Garry of Dracut talking about why she believes Sen. L’Italien is doing a great job in the Senate for the people of Dracut.
“We have to make sure she gets re-elected,” Rep. Garry told the overflow crowd at Sen. L’Italien’s campaign kickoff at Andover’s Chateau Restauant. “She’s the best person for Dracut and has more energy than anyone I know.”
Rep. Garry also talked about how Barbara helped with Colleen’s own campaign when she had to have a medical procedure. “Barbara helped run my race when I had surgery because that’s the kind of person she is. She’s always there for her family, friends and constituents.”
